June Classes at The Crafty Scrapper – Zentangle 102

Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 28 at The Crafty Scrapper for Zentangle 102!  The morning class is from 10:30 – 12:30 and the afternoon class from 2:00 – 4:00.  Here is the description for Z102:

Zentangle 102 – Beyond the Basics

Prerequisite:  Zentangle 101 or a basics class taught by a CZT.

This class will take a closer look at strings, and learn some of the more “complicated” patterns – by that, I mean there are just more steps to them requiring a higher level of concentration.  We will also look at tangle enhancers, “tangleations,” and shading.  Again, we will create two tiles with six to eight patterns during our two hour session.  Bring your basics mini kit.

$35.00

And here is a sample of the patterns:

It’s going to be fun – come learn a few more patterns to use on some summer projects!

Life Imitates Art…?

“Life imitates art” is an oft used quote.  However, I think I need to modify it to “Life interrupts art.”   May was always busy when the boys were in school, and I thought it would be better after they all graduated.  Not this year!  Thank goodness I have Zentangle to help me wind down at the end of the day!  I did get to do one class this month – at the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie.

I spent Saturday morning before Mother’s Day with a great group of eight ladies.  They all created beautiful works of art, and learned a little more about relaxation.  Here’s the mosaic of their first tiles:

They are all so talented and did such detailed work!  I hope to see them all at another class soon!

Great Week!

This has been a terrific week!  I started bright and early Monday morning with a group of middle and high schoolers in Lone Oak.  They were a little hesitant at first, but some then began to really get into it.  There are some talented artists there!  They let me photograph their work:

And this young man really got into it:

Then yesterday, a wonderful friend opened her home for a class of three (since there weren’t enough students to hold it at the library).   I had a lovely group of ladies (one was 88!) with whom I thoroughly enjoyed spending two hours!  I hope to see all of them again soon!
